Student Council The purpose of Student Council is to serve as a link between the students and faculty members. It repre- sents the students in the government of school and is the coordinator of many school events. ln the fall, Student Council sponsors the Get-Acquainted Day, the purpose of which is to promote new friendships. The students are given cards of different colors according to classes, and are given extra time between periods to collect signatures of those with whom they are not well acquainted. Back-to-School Night, a council pro- ject for which members serve as guides and ushers, gives parents and teachers a chance to become better acquainted. On lunior High Day, prospective North Siders are taken on a tour of the school by student council members. During Courtesy Week, students are reminded that courtesy always counts by P.A. an- nouncements, an assembly, and a dance.
