Jim Luelleri, the doctor who has also not been to Baby Facel' and Pretty Baby, paid, decides to go along with Anns stunt Varsity Varieties Features iAnchors Aweigh' The T953 version ot Varsity Varieties was built around the musical theme, Anchors Aweighf' Atter tryouts, a cast ot 88 students were selected tor the talent show, and Tom McComb served as master ot ceremonies. The tirst act progressed on the declc ot a huge battleship. Seated on the ship, a chorus ot sailors provided the music tor several group acts. Some ot the best remembered acts are the T920 tlappers, the Collegian number, the Chinese magician act, and the tinale in which A Cappella Choir appeared in their tormal attire. Mr. James Purlchiser, Mr. Raymond Beights, and Mr. William l-latt served as directors tor the pro- duction. Shirley Callihan, Janet Fuhrman, and Mary Jo Boolrout go through the actions to Mississippi Mud as the chorus keeps in time by clapping their hands. fr' 41-
