SCHOOL The Class of 1983 wishes to dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Marylou Jadwin, a woman we all hold dear in our hearts. Seven years ago, Mrs. Jadwin became the principal of our school. Before that, she helped in the forming of our school. She worked hard through those primary years, fighting for us every step of the way. She never let herself, or the school be knocked down. If that were to happen, she’d pick herself right back up again and go back fighting even harder. It wasn’t all for herself. It was for us, and our school. Marylou Jadwin made sure that the North Shore Regional Vocational School was a success. She made sure that we could stand on our own two feet before she left. Her leaving did not mean the end of our school. It meant the beginning of a new life for her. Everyone needs a change once in a while. This was her time to change. She has helped us by saying thank-you and good-luck always. We love you Mrs. Jadwin. You’ll always be remembered fondly in our hearts. The Class of 1983 i | i u i ADMINIS TCRACION | } | Paul F. Ahern | Superintendent Director Mr. Ahern came to North Shore this year from Shawsheen Tech. He has the experience to help us all. He sends a note of happiness in the future to the Class of 1983. Patricia Carlson Principal Mrs. Carlson also came to us this year from Bristol-Plymouth Regional. She has done very well so far and only hopes to improve. She hopes that all of the members of the Class of 1983 will lead very long, successful and fullfilling lives. { BS te ae ss } oe . Edward M. Daunheimer ioe. Asst. It should be worked at © Friendship does not reasons tocome about. However, it will not grow without nurturing. The older a person gets, the more he realizes how valheble a true friendship is. It is a sacred gift. It is not won at a carnival, nor is it bought at a store. Friendship must be given to you by a very special person. It should never be abused. We have learned a lot here at North Shore, each in our own trade. Our teachers have worked hard preparing us for this day. They did not just teach us school work. Through them, we have learned something equally as valuable. They have taught us how to make it in the outside working world. Our teachers have been our friends. They are the ones who have been there right alongside our parents, making sure we were ready. Yes, they are truly our good friends. The road of life is filled with many pathways leading to new experiences and wonders. Each is like a tunnel leading to that glorious light at the end called happiness. We face them alone, but never stand alone. Traveling down these pathways, we all need someone to stand by us. A true friend will always be there, along the rocky roads as well as the smoothe ones. We will also meet new people. They may only be acquaintances, but play important roles in our lives. They keep our souls happy. They keep us from getting lonely when we are alone. At the same instant, we know that if we needed a true friend to turn to, we could. A true friend is never too far to phone or write. It.is always better to go through life with a friend by your side, than to walk alone. Distance in a friendship does not mean the end of it. Sometimes it helps to sherdthen it Friends can realize how close they really are. When a friend is sad, he needs to talk. There is always a way to get in touch. It helps a lot knowing there is someone always there for comfort. Distance should not be the cause of a broken friendship. There is a bond between two friends felt only in their own hearts. It can never be torn apart. It can, however, be covered up by neglectfulness, and feelings of guilt over that neglectfulness. That is why there must be an effort on both sides. It cannot be all one-sided. A person cannot be all giving of himself and get nothing in return. So, in your life’s travels, look around for that special, true friend. Make him happy by Being a true friend back. This long and weary pilgrimage called life is hard to go through alone. Stand by your friend and he will stand by you. In him, you will always find the comfort and strength you will need to keep going. Just maybe, you will also touch someone in this special way, and you will be happy. I wish the very best for all of you. GOOD LUCK CLASS OF 1983! I dedicate this speech to my BEST FRIEND, Christopher M. Gollihur. SPAGHE CCI SUPPER iia 104 105 TAMMY 106 107 ¥. SiR MR Nee f abe CEREMONY GRADUATION CHE END OF OUR SONG Graduation Speech Today is one of the most Gooriant days of our lives. Tt is the steppin Sone to our future. This is sthe day on which we must pause and ask ourselves where we have been? Where we are now?, and w here we are going? We have turned the corner to adulthood. We are about to set foot on the long and challenging road of life. Are we ready? Have we prepared ourselves for this? These are the aa. that will race through our minds as we are about to receive our diplomas. I believe that North Shore Besongl has prepared us to choose the right directio equal to the task. It is amazing how short the years seem when they come to the ond. There our highs school days, the laughter, the sadness, the goodtimes and the bad will never be again. The teachers here have prepared us for the challenge of adulthood by instilling in us not only acaden and vocational skills but more. importantly pride in ourselves. a As we approach this new path we must remember that we have ie priviledge living in the greatest country in the world, where there is no limit to how much we can achieve. We must face new challenges the world will present to us with great and to love must come from , otherwise we have learned nothing. Later in life we will look back at our high school careers and wonder ... . Did I try ard enough? DidIdo my best? Now is the time to ask that question while we are young and are able to do something about it. We are fortunate to have a solid background in a trade and it is now up to us to take this knowledge and to _ apply it. Only the one who pursues his goals will come out. ahead We must grasp what we have learned and build it into something that will do us proud. As we step onto the new path, remember that we pass through __ this life but once. May God guide us and give us the strength we need to achieve our goals and to secure the future we all have dreamed about. I’d like to thank my teachers and everyone at the North Shore Regional, my classmates and especially my parents for all the love and understanding that they have given me through what I consider very, very happy years.
