March, 2 - - 4 ! Marching isn't as easy as it looks. It takes these enthusi- astic members of our band a great deal of time and effort to provide this type of half time entertainment. Spirit with a beat! will best describe our marching band. During W A the football season the participants produced vitality before and during the games. Other activities were the numerous concerts they gave for the benefit of the public. In the basketball season many of the members form the Pep Band and bring enjoyment - -ix to those attending the games. it f4l,uNG5 L Mr. Chinburg directs the band and he has indeed done a fine job thi s year! 'snr-EM . X The proper placement of the baton is a serious matter , between Doyle Frickey, drum major, and Mr. Chinburg. ' ie 'qw Loyal Republicans? Who knows, but they sure did pep up the SU-1ClCHlS attending the rallies. 88

Orchestra 66 - The '66-'67 Orchestra consisted of: Violins - Jim Apperson, Rosemary Beckly, Karen Boggs, Mary Holmes, Judy Hooton, Susan Krauss, Steve Nelson, Ilene Perlman, Sharon Schooley, Linda Springer, Dan Wing. Violas - Doug Arensmeier, Virgil Bramlett, Steve Graham, Larry Stockham. Cellos - Nancy Cleveland, jane Fletchall, Diane I-lerigstad, Robin johnson, Kathy Morrison, Eileen Rue. Basses - Rusty Gwynn, Ellen Rue. Flutes - Colleen Flux, Shannon Graves, Gloria Mann. Oboe - Mark Taylor. Clarinets - Sarah Breckenridge, Vicki Brown, Allan Davis, Jim johnson. Bassoon - Doyle Frickey. French Horns - Carl jepsen, Dave Partridge, Bob Ungar, Louis Thelen. Trumpets - Susan Boner, Gene Herigstad, john jackson. Trombones - Carl Benson, jerry Brush, Steve Henderson. Tympani - Ken Lauderback. Percussion -- Steve Tate, Chuck Young. String instruments, brass instruments, students of North Salem and Mr. Vick are the qualifications of a fine orchestra. Our orchestra participated in Autumn jubilee , the Christ- mas Assembly, and their own Spring Concert . Some of the members provided ensembles at Christmas time and others belong to various community organizations such as the junior Symphony. My what Concentration! Hats off to Mr. Vick for a fine year! 87

She performed with the band on various occasions this year.
