I ae: iz? Q Sweetheart Ba ' Sjll PS. The annual Sweetheart Ball, sponsored by Salem's Hi-Y clubs, was held on February 18 this year in South Sa1em's east balcony gym. Kathy Bellock, representing Harrison Elliot Senior Hi-Y, was crowned Queen by Hi-Y council president, Bruce Zahradnik. Princesses Janet Ashton and Sue Linnertz represented North's other Hi-Y clubs. Christmas Talent Show LT R K I fi f 1 gf N' A ' , I X ee? eww' me fl ' The theme for the 1966 Christmas Talent Show was a poor little rich girl trying to find the true meaning of Christmas The setting, an art museum, was represented by pic- ture frames with the different acts in them. As Lynn Chamberlain, our little rich girl, spoke about each picture, the acts were performed. She finally found the meaning of Christmas by helping a poor little ragamuffin. Congratulations go to the script writers: Steve Chipps, Don Thomas, jane Fletchall, Ellen Rue, and Eileen Rue, and the co-ordinator of it all, our student body vice president, Sue Van Meter. 3

The annual event was held Saturday evening, April 8, in the Marion Hotel Star- light Auditorium. Op Art was featured in the decor- ations with do-it-yourself impressionismn on the tables in the refreshment area. Beth Rasmussen and Marge Bradley headed the decorations committee, Kathy Snider, Sue Dancer, and Carol Cahill represented the three North Y-teen clubs. 137
