A mediocre season pre- vailed until the district tournament started and the Viking golfers shined, turning in a second place finish, only eight strokes off the Winner Corvallis. Pat Fitzsimons, Mike Horner, Marv Bennett and Chris Folkestad all shot in the 70's to keep North alive. This foursome cooled off in the state competition and finished in the top 20 teams out of 49. Other team members who competed in the regular season were Art Rice, Bill Welch, Mike Salstrom, Dave Alloway, Jim White, Wayne Seifer, Steve Miller, and Steve Chipps. Next year's power will be found in these four: Pat Fitzsimons, Art Rice, Mike Horner, and Chris Folkestad. Y Pat Fitzsimons watches as Mike Horner putts out.
