V. football team, after a discouraging start, came through with wins over Sweethome, McNary, and Lebanon in the middle of the season. After being blanked by Albany 33-0 in che first game of the year, the J. V.'s lost to , . , 1 Albany 7-6 at the near end of the season. This comparison of scores shows the improvement made this year by the j. V. team. Under the fine coaching of Mr. Littlejohn and Mr. Caldarazzo many excellent prospects for next year's varsity were created. The 1966 Boys' Swim Team splashed through a winning season, breaking 9 school records. The experienced team was paced all season by captain Scott McKeown, holder of 3 individual records in the 160 yd. individual medley, the 400 yd. freestyle, and the 100 yd. butterfly, Dan Rose, 100 yd. batkstroke record holder and 7th at District, and Buz Elgin, 200 yd. freestyle record breaker and 6th at State. McKeown carried the Viking name with him to place 7th in the all-state meet, highlighting his swimming career. Victories over South and Corvallis made the '66 swim- ming year one of which to be proud. The Girls' Team was lead by Peg Green and Kandis Brewer, 6th in 100 yd. breast stroke at District.
