Varsity Football Don Pruitt and Gary jones put the stopper on South's Bruce Dunn. Our Vikings had a tough, hard fought, frustrating season. The effort and desire of the squad generated some exciting games. 'Ihe climax of the season came against South in the final game. The keyed up Vikings out played South's power- ful team for the-first three quarters. Perhaps this game indicated that by next season the Vikings will be fully recovered from the division of its student body in l965. 102

At the close of the 1966 football season many of North's most loyal fans were dejected. With the quickest of glances at the record one can recognize a disappointing seasong however bright spots were numerous, and often it was the Vikings who dominated play. Although they were frequently behind at the final gun, at times in every game the team showed spirit and drive. With hard work and desire on the part of the returning letterman, North Salem fans will find that next season will be filled with excitement, spirit, and more victories.
