Like the range ofjean styles, T's came in a variety of colors, designs, and slo- gans. ACC conference teams CCarolif na, State, Duke . . . D and some pro teams CSuperbowl XX partici- pants Chicago and New England? got a lot of free advertising on students' shirts. Many local busin- esses and organizations also ad- vertised on Tshirts. Next in popularity was rock group shirts - especially those bought as souvenirs at concerts. Probably the most interesting T- shirts had funny, strange, or insulte ing sayings on them. Senior Mi- chael Lunsford often wore a T that said: lf Irs foo loud youre foo old. Junior Dwight White's favorite shirt said: When lrn bod l'm very good but when l'rn good lrn fonrosricf' Some had slogans that were too crass, crude, andfor socially unacceptable to wear to school. Although teachers rarely wore T-shirts to school, they wore them on workdays and to workshops. Mrs. Burgin was given a T-shirt at a yearbook conference that says: 'Show Your Tale . . . a yearbook srory Mrs. Harper had a l'lefty shirt that said Everyone is born rlghr-handed only the greoresr can overcome it, Whatever the mood, weather, or event was, nothing could top a Tfshirt for comfort and style, Sports and rock music Eddie Riley and Jeff Lantrip wear shirts that show their out of school interests 85
