When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road we 're trudging seems all up hill, When care is pressing us down a bit, We may rest, if we must, but we dare not quit. Life is odd with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, Let's not give up, though the pace seems slow, We might succeed with another blow. Often, as strugglers, we ha ve given up, When we might have captured the victor's cup, But we learned too late, when the night slipped down How close we were to the golden crown. We never can tell how close we are, Our goal may be near when it seems afar, l.et's stick to the fight when we're hardest hit, It's when things go wrong that we musn 't quit. These students realized what school had helped them to obtain, so they put all they could back into it. in addition to working hard and maintaining good grades, these outstand- ing seniors participated in the marching band, and athletics. Not only were these seniors rec' ognized by the Northern Lights Staff and facul- ty but many of them were included in Who's Who Among American High School Students. lt was very difficult for these seniors tojuggle clubs, student government and sports, but somehow they managed, Filling out applica- tions for college and scholarships also con- sumed some of their valuable time. Barry, Tim, and Deric were recognized for their outstanding abilities in sports, and also their determination to maintain good grades even though practice often interfered. Stephanie and .loe helped in many presene tations given by the Drama Club. Greg, Jeannie, Kelly, and Jennifer spent the year making sure layouts were drawn, copy written, and that students were in- formed These were just a few tasks per- formed by these journalists. Lara and Scott added greatly to the sound and performance of our marching and stage bands. Michael had many responsibilities other than being president of the Student Body and NHS, but he seemed to keep them all in per- spective.
