Teachers are endowed with the great responsibility of leading their students through a step-by-step ap- proach to the vast resources of knowledge in the world today. They are not super-human, and thus cannot teach those who do not wish to learn. But the teachers at Ridgeville did their best to transfer the knowledge they had gained in their years of schooling to the students.

ADMINISTRATION GUIDED SCHUUL The voters of the Ridgeville School Board District elected QL-RQ Mr. Donald Badenhop, Mr. Walter Delventhal, Mr. John L. Henry, Mr. Elias Frey, and Mr. Arthur Hoffman to positions on the school board. These men met the first Tuesday of each month to discuss school matters. School Boom' Ridgeville's Board of Education dealt with many problems which confronted it during the year-- teachers' contracts, approving expenditures, and considering consolidation, and many others. The board members also met with the Napoleon board of education to consider the prospect of future consolidation. An unofficial survey was taken of the residents or Ridgeville and Freedom Townships by the Citizens Committee to discover their opinions on this matter. The results indicated that the citi- zens preferred to remain as we are as long as prac- tical. Mr. Emil Schult served as clerk and treasurer of the school board. When called upon, he also served as a part-time teacher. 56
