Guiding their class in various activities were: Beth Nelson, President, David Meyer, Vice President, Terry Von Deylen, Secretary, Steve Hoffman, Treasurer. The students entering the seventh grade took a big step forward on the stairway of education. They had to become adjusted to a different kind of class sche- dule and a variety of teachers. In addition to these, the new Jr. High students were now included in varied extracurricular activities. Under the guidance of R their advisor, Mr. Gerken, they held a class skating party in the spring of the year. To some people the seventh graders seemed never to be able to remain in one place for a very long time. This only shows their eagerness for action with bigger and better things to come. JR. Each class at R.I-l.S. took pride in being them- selvesg each was locked in a unique struggle to stay a step ahead of the class behind them. Although each advancement meant new and greater responsibility, each class could not wait until that time when they would be a year further in high school. And every underclassman coveted that day when he would at last be a mighty Senior, his job alone to rule the halls at R.H.S.

Representing their class as officers were: Debbie Lienau, Treasurer, Janice Smith, Secretary, Debby Bremer, President, Mark Boelter, Vice President. Only one short year ago the eighth graders were the down-trodden members of the Jr. High. But that year eventually passed and they became the leaders of the complicated world of Jr. High. With the help of their advisor, Mr. Blitz, they planned and carried out a class party in the spring. Such activities as basketball, baseball, chorus, solo contest, and others kept them busy throughout the year. Registration for the next four years of high school was carried out in the spring. The glorious era of being the eighth grade ended and all too soon they were ready to step up into the hectic world of high school.
