This year's squad was composed of six seniors, three juniors and three sophomores. The reserve team, which was made up of two juniors and six sophomores, finished with an 8-ll record. The season was started on the wrong foot, as the Falcons dropped a seven-point decision to Pettisville. They rebounded quickly to defeat league foes McClure and Malinta. After the next four games, of which they lost three, their record stood 3-5. A few changes were made,and the Falcons promptly ripped off a nine- game winning streak. Pettisville and I-Iamler were counted among the victims, and thus early season losses to both teams were avenged. The Falcons then prepared for the big battle with league-leading Hol- gate. They tried valiantly, but the Tigers squeezed out a 93-86 win. The Falcons eked by Deshler, and then prepared to face Holgate again in the Ayersville Sectional Tournament. They didn't quite have it, though, as Holgate ended the Falcons' season with an 80-61 Victory. At the conclusion of the season, the Henry County All-Star Team was announced. Two Falcons players, Steve Meyer and Larry Wesche, were honored for their outstanding play. Steve was awarded a first team berth and Larry was placed on the second team.
