Miss Betty Miller, the kindergarten teacher, is recognized by the Henry County Teachers Asso- ciation for twenty -eight years of teaching. She has taught these years in the Ridgeville School. Tea chefs A Miss Peach Award was given to Mrs. Helen Landman by Lee Ann Eicher, one of her fifth grade students, who won the award for her through a contest in the Toledo Blade. Miss Yolanda Sito and Mr. Robert Coleman are student teach- ers at Ridgeville. They are both studying at Defiance College Miss Sito is helping Mrs . Engler with the elementary vocal music and directs the jr. High Chorus. Mr. Coleman teaches algebra. Migrant Classes These ladies taught and assisted in teaching the Migrant students during their short stay at Ridgeville. They are: Mrs. Virginia Wesche, Mrs. Marie Benecke, Mrs. Phyllis Hesterman, Mrs. Elta Roegge, Mrs. Doris Stamm, and Mrs. Estella Hoffman Knot pic- turedj , The classes also enjoy recreation as well as classroom work. Here the students are play- ing an exciting game of softball under the supervision of Mrs . Benecke.

April 2 was the date of the annual elementary op- eretta, presented by grades four, five, and six. The story of the play was of the adventures of Tom Sawyer and his many friends. Tom's Aunt Polly tries to be stern, but is always won over by his amusing antics. Tom, Huck Finn, and joe Harper run away from home and spend the night on a deserted island. The folks at home think the boys are dead and as a climax, the three at- tend their own funeral. The entire program is filled with suspenseful and exciting adventure . The cast members busily make last minute pre- parations before the actual performance.
