A newly formed group of musicians is the Stage Band under the helpful direction of Mr . William Engler. This group has been performing just since September, but has played for various dances and banquets. The members include, FRONT ROW: Barb Huner, Cindy Eggers, Vickie Hess, Sue Otte, Ellen Kay VonDeylen, Susan Wyse, BACK ROW: Nancy Gerken, jim Rentz, Greg Wesche, Tom Hoffman, Eugene VonDeylen, Duane Dehnbostel, Steve Rosebrock, Larry Wendt, Dennis Mohring, Sharon Miller. Stage B and Teen Troupe The Teen Troupe is the newest mixed vocal group under the direction of Mrs , William Engler , Original, or even offbeat, they just like to sing, Members of this newly organized group are as follows. M cz jo mites Directors Mrs. Engler, the vocal music director, has her days at Ridgeville filled to the brim. Not only is she the elementary music teacher, but also has charge of the choruses. Mrs, Engler's time and effort is aimed in teaching the jr. High Chorus, the Girls' Chorus, and the Teen Troupe. ln addition, each year she directs a suc- cessful operetta, given by the elementary. During the 1964 -65 marching season, the band was lead by these eight girls. They are Ceclia Beck, Cindy Eggers, Bonnie Engler, Sue Otte, Sue Ann I-Iogrefe, Sue Ann Norden and Sheryl Bremer. Ridgeville's Superior-rated band owes its style and pre- cision to Mr. Engler's painstaking and patient direction. His diligent work, along with the long hours of practice by the band members, gained the band a Superior Rating at the District Contest at Bowling Green, Ohio. This then enabled them to compete in the State Finals at Ash- land, Ohio. During the course of a year, the eighty- seven members of the Ridgeville Band are very busy. They perform many times, both at parades and concerts. Their parade activities include Memorial Day, Bryan jubilee, Henry County Fair, Harvest Festival at Holgate, Firemen's Convention, Christmas Parade, and Halloween Parade. The Band Parents sponsor both an annual Pan- cake Sr Sausage Supper and an lce Cream Social. The members of the band prepare and present a Christmas Program and a Spring Concert . Each year the band is asked to perform at the High School Nite festivities and Commencement. Along with these many activities, the members enjoy giving exchange concerts with area schools and just playing for their own enjoyment, 54
