Ms. Wolff, rarely do students encounter a teacher who is as dedicated to the art of learning as you are. From Karl Marx to the Kung San, your presentations and classroom discussions are always informative, inciteful, and interesting. Becuase of your respect for all opinions, from the mainstream to the absurd, we have become more open-minded and aware of the diversity in the world. We now realize that true education is not memorizing selected facts and theories, but that it is the developement of thinking and communication skills. Your dedication goes far beyond the classroom, and you always find time in your busy schedule to help us. We respect you as our teacher, mentor, and friend. Thank you seems insignificant compared to the time and effort you have put into helping us grow personally, emotionally and intellectually. Ms. Wolff, the class of 1985 is honored to dedicate our yearbook to you. 5

Dr. Mary Anne Wolff Ms. Wolff came to North Reading twelve years ago and has continuously stimulated students with her knowledge of the Social Sciences. In 1983 she took on the position of World Affairs Club Advisor and continues to be one of the moving forces in the organization. Ms. Wolff resides in Somerville, where she enjoys preparing and dining on ethnic foods. She also enjoys reading, especially mystery novels, cross country skiing, and jogging, and can be seen running around the campus several times a week. Born in New York and raised in New Hampshire, Ms. Wolff graduated from Tufts University where she majored in Political Science. Before going on to graduate studies, Ms. Wolff worked as both a newspaper reporter and a teacher at a nontraditional, “alternative” school. She obtained both her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Education from Boston University. For her dissertation she ran a summer educator’s workshop that was made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation. 4

THANK YOU Mr. Robert Ward Looking back as seniors, we now realize how much we’ve grown and matured throughout our final high school year. Without your guidance and efforts, this year would not be nearly as memorable. We thank you for sacrificing your time, and often your sanity, to help us succeed. In case we haven’t mentioned it, you are truly appreciated. 6
