HARRY LUCIER 4 It might be said that Mr. Lucier is a teacher in the North Reading High School Science Department but it would be unfair to limit his contribution to the students and faculty in such a fashion. In his quiet, unassuming manner, Mr. Lucier has consistently assisted the Drama Productions by personally constructing a prop for its productions or by providing an antique or a rare prop either from his own resources or from the many antique and thrift shops he canvases as a hobby. He has also served in the capacity of National Honor Society Advisor — each year organizing the selections of candidates and steering the Induction Ceremony and reception so that they are significant and memorable occasions for all those invited to attend. 4
Mr. Lucier ' s diverse interests are not limited to school-related functions. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Boston University and took his Master ' s Degree at Boston State. Interested in a variety of hobbies, he enjoys Classical music, sings with a Barbershop group in his local area, and plays the piano. He has also developed a Historic District of Lions Mouth Area in Amesbury for the historical society and works with residents at Lake Attitash to form a protective association to save the lake from spoilage. Mr. Lucier is also in charge of the Lions Mouth Farm — one of the three remaining working farms in Amesbury. Having grown up on his farm, Mr. Lucier raises sheep, oversees crop management, plays a vital role in the economical and practical aspects of farm life, and has been known to find adoptive homes or provide care for inumerable animals of all breeds, the most notable being Jimmy , the llama. Expanding on his knowledge and interest of the environment, Mr. Lucier has also completed a certification as a waste water treatment operator. It is to you, Mr. Lucier, for being the warm, caring, and giving person that you are that we, the Class of 1983, proudly and respectfully dedicate our yearbook. 5
