A MESSAGE FROM MR. SZUBERLA The high school graduation ceremony is a significant milestone in the life of each graduate. Left behind are the nostalgic memories of youth. Ahead lie the challenges of adult responsibility. The pages of this yearbook are devoted to the recollections of the past. But life moves on at an accelerated pace, and we must not dwell upon the pleasant memories of youth to excess. For if we do, the opportunity to shape the future may escape us. You, the members of the Class of 1963, are the architects of the world of tomorrow, and your success in this task will determine our way of life. Move forward with courage and assurance. Pause, from time to time, to gain inspiration from the past, but do not be deterred from the task of building tomorrow. We wish you good luck and Godspeed in this mission. 7

f A MESSAGE FROM DR. QUINN When we think of high school commencement we are reminded of the usual expressions of hope for and faith in the future, individual resource- fulness, diligence, courage, sacrifice, and dedication to humanity. Just as a book becomes a classic through long and continuous acceptance, these expressions are constantly repeated because they are universally acceptable; that is, they have not been limited by time or custom. The pressure and requirements of the total society may change, but these basic ingredients of success remain constant in a changing world. Yet the challenge before present secondary school students is greater than in any prior historicol period. There is so much more knowledge to acquire and master, and much more intense human competition to face and transcend. Surely, the present graduates will have need to rely on the wisdom of the ages as they seek and attain their place in the world.
