, 'E 'ji' 'ff , :Q 43 1f:..'.1.:+ Q18 i ,f,..,,,., GIRLS' SPCDRTS Say, the Celtics should hire women! Such a comment is not surprising if you've seen the girls in action. Gur gym seems to be bursting with enthusiastic feminine S1DO1'tStC1'S. Some play basketballg others prefer badminton, ping pong, volleyball, or even softball, in season. The girls are from the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. Their interest is the foundation of the club. There are no officers, no dues, and no strict rules and regulations to be followed. Instead, the girls, numbering about one hundred, have created the club for enjoyment and recreation. They have sensed the keen thrill of competition. Miss McCoy, the ever competent adviser, feels that the spirit of any organization is the most important part. Certainly, there is spirit in the girls' sports organization. Adviser, Miss McCoy. go all in if -

ww THE NATIGNAL I-IONCR SOCIETY As a reward for outstanding scholarship, service, leadership, and character a group of students is accepted each year into the North Quincy High School chapter of the National Honor Society. In the present era of conlusion, there is an ever growing need for people to get together, and by uniting for a common purpose, to further the way of life in which they believe. By constantly trying to improve our country's educational system, the National Honor Society has helped greatly in making us realize the value of our way of life. This organization is most instrumental in waking us up and getting us to thinking. Its annual competitive scholarship stimulates enthusiasm inside the society, and the impressive induction ceremony contains a lasting message lor all who witness it. Never before has such an organization been so important to us, and it is hoped that the members of the National Honor Society will go through life building upon the fine accomplishments they have achieved in high school. Adviser, Miss Horrigang president, James Blighg co-vice presidents, Eliza- beth Croumey and janet Anderson: secretary, Ann Robertsg treasurer, Richard Cushing. if-llil-I IHK

CHEERLEADERS Almost every girl has, at one time or another, said to herself, Gee! I wish I were a cheerleader! But this unsuspecting little daydreamer doesn't realize that the cheerleaders job isn't everything it's made out to be. It's a lot of hard work. Almost any afternoon at practice such exclamations as 'KOh! my achin' back! and No, that's not right! Let's try it again. can be heard. But the girls come through with Ilying colors, and we, the spectators, see only the skill and agility with which they go through their routines. Can anyone imagine a football game without The Pyramid or a basketball game without The Beam ? Of course not! So let's all give three cheers for Ann Richards, Bernadette Hannon, Emily Newcomb, Alice Vincent, Judith Marr, Barbara YVhelton, .lane Mitchell, and Jayne jackson. They deserve them! Adviser, Mr. Forest, head cheerleader, Ann Richards.
