Gur gym seems to be bursting with enthusiastic feminine S1DO1'tStC1'S. Some play basketballg others prefer badminton, ping pong, volleyball, or even softball, in season. The girls are from the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. Their interest is the foundation of the club. There are no officers, no dues, and no strict rules and regulations to be followed. CHEERLEADERS Almost every girl has, at one time or another, said to herself, Gee! I wish I were a cheerleader! But this unsuspecting little daydreamer doesn't realize that the cheerleaders job isn't everything it's made out to be. It's a lot of hard work. Almost any afternoon at practice such exclamations as 'KOh! my achin' back! and No, that's not right! Let's try it again. can be heard. But the girls come through with Ilying colors, and we, the spectators, see only the skill and agility with which they go through their routines. Can anyone imagine a football game without The Pyramid or a basketball game without The Beam ? Of course not! So let's all give three cheers for Ann Richards, Bernadette Hannon, Emily Newcomb, Alice Vincent, Judith Marr, Barbara YVhelton, .lane Mitchell, and Jayne jackson. They deserve them! Adviser, Mr. Forest, head cheerleader, Ann Richards.
