August 24 27 September 4 5 October 5 10 24 25-26 27 November 2 9 12 16 22-23 December 3 18 31 January 11 19 ' 25-28 February 14 16 20 28-29 March 1 Diary Organization Day - 8 112 months of school. Back with our noses to that old familiar grindstone. New teachers, new classes, and new schedules combined to make first day inter- esting, if hectic. But even on this dark day, there is something to look forward to - only 287 more school days till liberation. Beginning of softball schedule - started off with a big banglll! Well enough for that-- Schools out for a big day at the Indiana State Fair. Report cards come out. Twenty-six Seniors confined to quarters. Change in room schedule of classes, due to preparing stage for Junior Play. Several students discovered wandering about halls in state of coma, due to confusion over location of rooms. Performance of Junior Play, other than a few broken limbs and a wet seat or two, they brought their play to a great success with Mrs. Garriott as director. A very much needed 4 day vacation, due to the ,Indiana State Teachers Association. Our first Square Dance was held at the school gym. A good time was had by all,,regardless of aching joints the next day. Our first basketball game of the season with Waveland. Hawks being defeated several points. Alas the game with Bainbridge Our old rivals had arrived, with Roachdale outscoring 21 points. Making up for our poor start. Also had Senior pictures taken - Joy, Joy, no classes!! National Education Week - Observed by all I!! Our third game of the season, with another victory over Reelsville. Pretty tough team to beat. Thanksgiving Vacation. A very impressive Christmas Program was given by the elementary grades for P-T-A Meeting. Vacation! starts a week early due to bad weather. Disappointment to alll Return - Exams - No serious casualties among the students. Photographer took pictures for the annual. Another confusing day!! But we don't mind, again we had no classes. Semi-Formal Dance. Dick McKinsey and his orchestra furnished the music. Everyone seemed to have a good time. County tournament held at Greencastle. Our boys played a thrill- ing game agalnst Russellville. Hawks being beaten by only 4 points. Incldentally Russellville came out on top, beating Reelsville by 4 points the final game. Valentines Day. Mail service clogged. The question?s whose been sending the strange letter to Frank. State solo and ensemble contests at DePauw. We had 79 entries this year. Pretty good. Senior exams - This is, a day we've all been waiting for. Ugh! our last time to worry about exams. Sectional Tourney at Greencastle. March always comes ln like a lion and with it comes the monsoons. 13

I, Bob Thompson, will my ability to go with girls to Bob Page. I, Edna Harmless, will my shortness to Mary Stewart. I, Bruce Bartlett, will my red, curly hair to Milna Beth Farlow. I, Wilma Bonifacius, will my love for one man to Marylyn Copner. I, Shirley Oakes, will my ability to snag a man to any girl who can see lt to their best advantage. I, Dick Crosby, will my ability to be late to class to Fred Berry. I, Raymond Wilson, will my height to Jim Bob Steele. I, Esther Kelly, will my giggles to Jane Winslow. I, Silas Ronk, will my quietness to Eddie Mclntosh. I, Mary Eggers, will my brown eyes to Alice Coffman. l I, June I-lolland, will my phce in aeronautics class to any girl in the Junior Class, who has the knowledge. We, Nancy Huber and Virginia Boller, will our ability to drive a car to Shirley Bartholomew. I, Charles Rady, will my love for trig. to Dorris Sue Hymer. We, Doyne Cooper and Richard Holland, will our ability to make A's in aeronautics to the Junior boys. I, Larry Jones, will my athletic ability to Jane Irwin. I, James Carrington, will my ability to have week-end dates to Elven Holtorif I, Gladys Brooks, will my taste for cinnamon balls to Judy Gough. I, Wilbert Clark, will my ability to be here and yet not be here to Irwin Taylor. I, Max Pickel, will my auctloneering ability to Hazel Davis. I, Lola Pickel, will my Topaz hair to Bob McGaughey. I, Arlene Shuee, will my ablllty to co-operate with sponsors to John Van Vactor. I, Frank Plunkett, will my ability in the field of romance to Carol Hays. I, Shirley Carrington, bequeath the ability to catch a man and hold on to him to Jean Ann Van Vactor. We hereby appoint Mr. Espey as executor of this, our Last Will and Testament.
