ERNEST HORACEK, principal of North Platte High School and Chief Engineer of the N.P.H.S. spe- cial, has many duties and responsibilities. Among these are supervising all school activities such as games, plays, dances, and parties, and administering the fi- nances of these activities. He observes how classes are conducted and taught by visiting the individual classrooms while the classes are in session. Mr. Horacek works with parents on discipline or academic problems and helps smooth out problems be- tween the teachers and students. He can always be re- membered for his enthusiastic drive for sportsmanship and school spirit. Mr. Horacek has obtained degrees at both Ne- braska State Teachers College at Peru and the Univer- sity of Nebraska. To Him That Will But Wait f 3'-2, AN I HELP YOU? Miss Hutton offers a helping hand to stu- SECOND HANDS IN THE OFFICE Mr Horacek looks over the dents Darrell Miller, Elaine Franklin, Gloria Stuhmer, Lonna records with two of his secretaries Marie and LaRae Henry, John Vanarsdall, and Dallis Dye. -11.. MISS MARY HUTTON, Vice-Principal of North Platte High School, acts as the assistant engineer on our N. P. H. S. special. She works with the students to help them plan their courses throughout their school years She is always glad to have students come in to her office and discuss their problems with her No matter what type of problem students may bring before her they can always remember her smile which has cheered up many sad faces. She received her A. B. at the University of Ne braska and her M. A. at the Universities of Wisconsin and Montana.
