PRINCIPAL OTTO OAKES During The second year ThaT OTTo Oakes has been principal in The NorTh PlaTTe Senior l-ligh School, he has been acTiye doing Things To beTTer The school. Through Mr. Oakes' eTTorTs new shop equipmenT was obTained. Mr. Oakes is helping esTablish a program which requesTs all sTudenTs oT The NorTh PlaTTe schools To have a Tuberculosis TesT. l-le has inTroduced a sysTem oT sTandard- ized TesTs Tor mosT classes in order To de- Termine Teaching progress. Principal Oakes is also a member oT The delegaTe assembly, The legislaTive body oT The Nebraska STaTe EducaTion AssociaTion.

These men provided a Two hundred dollar raise in The salary oT The Teachers Tor The coming school year. lmprovemenTs on The audiTorium were also allowed. These include new blue and gold sTage curTains To replace The presenT maroon and whiTe ones. THE MEETING WILL COME TO ORDER. GeTTing down To business on such guesTions as providing irnprovemenTs in The high school audiTorium and The Tooflaall Tield are The board oT educaTion members. SeaTed around The Table are Dr. l.. F. STaTes, C. A. Norall, Frank Cornwell, president W. J. Braham, superinTendenT, George Luedlce, E. W. Fisher, and Carl R. Greisen. A new moTion picTure proiecTor will also be purchased Through The co-operaTion oT The board oT educaTion. Their auThorizaTion oT The reguesT oT new shop eguipmenT Trom ForT Crook, Omaha, saved The Tax-payers oT NorTh PlaTTe approximaTely Tour Thousand dollars. ln The shipmenT received were benches, boTh wooden and meTal, soclceT wrenches, a moTor driven disTribuTor TesTer, a small oxy-aceTylene welding ouTTiT, Three Types oT vises, wrenches, a baTTery TesTer, a bralce adiusTmenT Tool, numerous sizes and Types oT screwdrivers, some punches and chisels, wood rasps and meTal Tiles, and Types oT heavy duTy pliers. ln The ciTy elecTions which Toolc place in April, York l-linman, Jr., and J.
