Also in SepTember, The governmenT made a call Tor money. In response To This Third War Loan Drive, over 52,000 in bonds and sTamps were sold in NorTh PlaTTe High. On January 26, The govern- menT again asked Tor money and was meT wiTh anoTher wholehearTed answer To The call. The UniTed China Relief Tund was swelled 555.80 when The STudenT Council sponsored a pay Tilm, The CounT oT MonTe CrisTo, on November I7. Some sTudenTs also made donaTions To aid our allies, The people oT UniTed China. To help TighT The baTTle againsT low morale OT men in service, several boys worked on Their own Time building checker-boards, cribbage boards, and ring Toss games Tor The Red Cross. ln February, some ZOO oT These games were given To The Red Cross who senT Them To servicemen in hospiTals and on The TighTing TronTs. OTher such classes were auTo mechanics held aT The Ford garage aTTer school hours, mechanics and elecTriciTy TaughT by Miss AlThea Bruce, blue-prinT reading by l-T. H.
