Our nation is at war-one of the most serious in history. From us as teachers and students is demanded the best of constructive citizenship. 'We must make wiser decisions based on careful study of facts and possible solutions. Sound scholarship and serious purpose are es- sential to victory. This will be more true of the peace which we sincerely hope will come. Men and women, technically trained and thoroughly disciplined will create a world democracy in which man can at- tain a higher degree of welfare and happiness. North Platte High School points with pride to former students Whose sound scholarship is now assert- ing itself. As time marches on, may the same feeling characterize those from the home school who will be watching you. Principal L. W. Nelson serves as trus- tee of the Presbyterian church, chairman of the state board of control of Nebraska high school activities association, mem- ber of Kiwanis club. Mr. Nelson is espe- cially interested in agriculture and spends his summers farming in Wahoo, Nebraska. He spends much time giving helpful advice to students. PRINCIPA L. W. NELSON MQQ 4, MM-
