we hqWMMWm of M Through his ability to understand senior problems and his careful guidance of seniors, Roy W. Mayer, chemistry teacher and assistant athletic coach, has won the respect of the senior class. Because of these facts the An- nual Staff of 1940 respectfully dedicates the 1940 Round-Up to Mr. Mayer. Mr. Mayer has lived in North Platte for twelve years, teaching two years in Junior High School and ten years in Senior High School. During his ten years of work in this school Mr. Mayer has devoted much of his time to major activities concerning the students. Two years ago he was appointed ticket chairman of the Activities Board. It is in this capacity that Mr. Mayer and his secretary every week issue activ- ities tickets for approximately 634 activities book holders. Rounding out a full schedule he teaches mostly junior and sen- ior classes of senior science, phy- sics, and chemistry. Through these classes Mr. Mayer knows most of the juniors and seniors. Through athletics he in well known to the freshmen because he coaches freshmen football and basketball. Outside of his work in school Mr. Mayer likes to play golf, which is his hobby. Mr. Mayer's active interest in school life, his fairness in judg- ing the problems of a high school student, and a wonderful sense of humor makes him a teacher well-liked by all.
