Executive Board The Executive Board of the Student Coun- cil consists of the elected officers and the two party leaders of the council. The fol- lowing are the eight members: Lorraine Lammers, Lillias Jensen, Barbara McKown, Dorothy Dixon, John Brandon, Delores Bellamy, Elmo Thompson, and Bob Ford. This group meets with Leslie W. Nelson. Formerly this group did not meet regu- larly but they did meet every two weeks this year. The board members discuss and study student problems before they are presented to the Student Council. All com- mittees were appointed by 'the Executive Board. They have concluded that to point out both sides of an issue one must con- duct research on it. This work was carried on by the committees. .Jfallancfg ' STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT SERVICE ACT. ASSEMBLY ACTIVITIES BOARD Left: Discussing the publication of a student hand- book and student supervised study halls is the Stu- dent Council Executive Board. One of the problems considered by the Student Council was whether or not they should draft a constitution. After some study was made, they decided that because the council changes each year and the con- stitution would not remain the same it would not be necessary to draw up a con- stitution. They brought about student supervised study halls. An investigation concerning the 8 115 system was carried on and it was agreed that it should remain the same. Student Secretaries Recording and tiling absences and tardies for at- tendance records keep Elaine Peterson, Lila Mae Enzminger, and Jean Eberly, secretaries for Miss Antonides, quite busy every day. Top left. ln the school library Marjorie O'Brien, Dorothy Saunders, Elizabeth Webster, and Lorina Bunting check out books and magazines, and replace books on shelves to assist Miss Disbrow. Second left. Betty Raye Knott, Vera Varichek, and Doris John- son are the student secretaries for Mr. Wright. These girls check papers, record grades, and type copy for the Round-Up. Third left. Answering letters, filing records, and checking in equipment are the duties of Arlene Lannin, Eleanor McCrone, Laurine Hanson, and Jeanne Boyer, who work for Mr. Wilson in the athletic office. Student Council The Student Council representing' the en- tire student body, is composed ot' members elected from twenty-two home rooms. Striving to cooperate with the adminis- tration and to provide interesting activities tor the students, the Student Council spon- sored the following activities: matinee school dances on the gymnasium tloor, pep rallies for football, Open House for the parents last fall. and student conducted assemblies. Reports were made to all home rooms after each meeting. The student body elected the Student Council ollicers. Two parties were formed and the candidates for the otlices did not have to belong to the Student Council. The Liberalists won on a straight 'ticket from the Progressive party. Rtznille, l let4-tier. lliixotl. suits Student Service The duties ol' the members are to pre- vent students from loitering in the halls, to stop all unnecessary noises which eo on in the corridors, and to keep students out of quiet areas during' filth period. ln place of the arm bands worn in pre- vious years the Student Service members adopted blue and gold arm buttons. The members tind the buttons convenient and attractive. Student Service members consider this a worthy organization to belong to. and each member is proud ot' his blue and gold button which shows that he belongs to Student Se1'vice. Une credit is given each year forthe service rendered by every boy. The aim ol' the Student Service is to bring about order in the halls through the coop- eration ot' the entire student body. Twenty-eight members were enrolled in Student Service for the year 10330-10. The group is now sponsored by Linus lleaver, manual arts instructor.
