Specials - Secretaries Miss Fern Breternitz has been an eflicient secretary for Mr. Braham since 1924. Miss Breternitz graduated from the North Platte High School in 1922. She 'took an active part in school activities. She is fond of the color orchid. Reading is her hobby. She takes care of the books for the school board. Miss Ruth Koch is Mr. Nelson's pleasant and eiiiciont secretary. Ruth graduated from the North Platte High School with the class of 1935. She is always ready 'to give students any available information and keeps the oiiice in smooth running o1'der. She is partial to the color yellow. ,'.,,,.......- m J ig' 1 .. s L ' .3 as :V I Miss Helen Wright is the friendly school nurse at North Platte High School. This is Miss Wright's first year in North Platte. She received her nurse's training and her R. N. degree at Hastings, Nebraska, and took her Public Health Work at the Uni- versity ot' Michigan. Miss Wright is an amiable person in that she has no pet peeve. O. A. Johnson has been truant officer of the entire North Platte school district for the past sixteen years. Mr. Johnson spends his spare time, when weather permits, working in his garden and raising flowers. Mr. Johnson has an obliging personality and has the unique ambition ol' wanting to be a good American citizen.

Executive Board The Executive Board of the Student Coun- cil consists of the elected officers and the two party leaders of the council. The fol- lowing are the eight members: Lorraine Lammers, Lillias Jensen, Barbara McKown, Dorothy Dixon, John Brandon, Delores Bellamy, Elmo Thompson, and Bob Ford. This group meets with Leslie W. Nelson. Formerly this group did not meet regu- larly but they did meet every two weeks this year. The board members discuss and study student problems before they are presented to the Student Council. All com- mittees were appointed by 'the Executive Board. They have concluded that to point out both sides of an issue one must con- duct research on it. This work was carried on by the committees. .Jfallancfg ' STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT SERVICE ACT. ASSEMBLY ACTIVITIES BOARD Left: Discussing the publication of a student hand- book and student supervised study halls is the Stu- dent Council Executive Board. One of the problems considered by the Student Council was whether or not they should draft a constitution. After some study was made, they decided that because the council changes each year and the con- stitution would not remain the same it would not be necessary to draw up a con- stitution. They brought about student supervised study halls. An investigation concerning the 8 115 system was carried on and it was agreed that it should remain the same.
