The Boom-box, the Walkman, and music videos ... these innovations owe their existence to society’s love of music, especially our generation’s love of music. Since music is such an important part of our generation, it would be a major injustice to fail to document its impact on our daily lives. Music also deserves recognition because it can help us remember a certain place, person, or feeling from long ago. Songs are able to bring back memories. As you will notice, titles of popular songs have been applied to various aspects of life at North Penn. Sometimes the connotations are humorous, sometimes they are retro- spective, and sometimes they are simply appropriate. Unlike the sentiments Michael McDonald expressed in No Looking Back”, we want to keep an eye on the past, with the help of the 1986 Pennsonian and the music which played so great a role in our Senior Year. Well I was born in a small town Educated in a small town Used to daydream in that small town Another boring romantic that’s me. No I cannot forget where it is that I come from I cannot forget the people who love me Yeah I can be myself here in this small town And People let me be just what I want to be. (from Small Town” by John Cougar Mellancamp)

Top lefts Caught you by surprise Wendy! Top right: N.P. fans checking out the football players. Above: A warm smile from Debbie on a cool fall day. Seniors In the future, all of us will look back at our high school years and see how each and everyone of us have grown, together as well as separately. We went from 7th graders who counted down the years to graduation and enduring school only because our friends were there-, to seniors who are trying to make our last year the best because we come to realize that some of us will never see each other again. The song, Don't You Forget About Me,” by Simple Minds, says it all. We will have many memories, both happy and sad. but they are only memories that we can associate with our high school years. Whenever, we look at this yearbook, we will remember our senior year and all of those who made it worth remembering.
