The J.V. squad of 79-80 was an inexperienced one with only two returning players. Their hard work and determination was reflected in their im- provement through the season, climaxed by the upset of Mansfield 49-47 and the heartbraking loss to league champions C.V. in the final game. The Panthers were led by Tim Llewellyn’s 305 points and Bob Brion's 237 points. The team shot a respectable 53.2% from the line and 33.4% from the field. The 79-80 season will send Tim Llewellyn, Bob Brion, Frank Oakes, Joe Bubacz, Scott English, Randy Lazouras, Randy Nellis, and Mike Musingo to the varsity ranks next year. This will leave Dan Dinnison (top F.G. pet. 46.9%), Bill Toothaker, and Jim Bogaczyk along with a tall, strong group of Junior High players to compose the 80-81 J.V. team. Our hopes are high for next year. M-O-O-O-O-O-O-SE! I just gotta get it! Fighting for the ball. An even better jump for Hutch — 19.

The powerful Panther Varsity Volleyball team swept their way to an excellent 6-1 season. The lone loss was from the repeating District 4 Champions Wellsboro, in one of the most ex- citing high school volleyball matches this area has ever seen. Playing their usual 4 hitter 2 setter offense, the Panthers attack was led by the aggressive spiking of captain Mindy Muto and Sharon Manikowski, with Michele Stiner and Deb Krause providing the offense on rotation. Excellent serving was a characteristic of this year's team with several sharing honors as high scorer, including Michele, Sharon, Jani, Mindy, Carla, and Deb. Outstanding setting by the team setters Janis Carlson and Carla Wandell pro- vided the placement opportunities. Strong re- serves providing back-up in positions included Pam Ogden, Holly Haynes, Connie Cruikshank, and Nancy Padleski. In all this team has dis- played the most balance, team spirit, and team play that Mrs. Muto has coached in her seven year reign. I sure hope we win! That serve wasn't too hard! Sure wish it was our turn to play! The age all teen-agers wish they were. — 21
