4 5 6 Ji 1 ' ' •! . jlS Union i -' - -; ■ k_c ' Jnu Going back in our minds through our years at North Penn, one teacher stands out. He suffered with us through class rings and money raising projects, to help make our Junior Prom a suc- cess . Although most of us had only a few years with him as a teacher, the impression made will long be remem- bered . The 1975 Pennsonian is dedicated to: Mr. James Warren m 8 Gim lorn QjnapS 9 This year North Penn had their first Foreign Exchange student in many years. Jauo Gentil came to the United States from Portaleza, Brazil. His stay in Blossburg lasted from September, 1974, to March, 1975. While John was here, he stayed with the Harman's and the Kilmer's. His stay in the U.S. came as a result of Jeanne Manikowski's stay in Guatemala over the summer months. While John was here, he was a member of the North Penn Wrestling team and participated in various other activities. John said that he had many good and bad times in the U.S., but that it was an experi- ence that he would never forget. Another very good experience for a very good year. 11 12 dLiiolloM, J(itea! 13 14 With a beautiful weekend and super enthusiasm this year's homecoming was one of the best ever. It all began with a movie and bonfire Friday night, which brought out the old fighting spirit between the Seniors and Juniors. Saturday morning brought the sunshine and a parade through Blossburg. As 2 o'clock rolled around the football game began and at half-time Karen Dalton was crowned Homecoming Queen. Even though the Panthers suffered a 34-6 loss to Wyalusing the spirit didn't die. That night approximately 50 cou- ples attended the Homecoming Ball with music by Steelsun. It turned out a perfect week- end, a job well done by Student Council. Homecoming '74? On Novem- ber 7th in Mansfield, they battled with Wellsboro for 1st place in the Northern Tier League West. When the buzzer rang, North Penn had posted its 14th victory in 15 games, and were truly NUMBER 1. In February, the girls went into the District Play-Offs and defeated William- son, Galeton, and Wellsboro. They lost only to S. Columbia, which made them the 2nd place team in District 4. Mr. Scott had this to say of this years team. I'm proud of their achievement. First they tried by going out for the team. Second, they had to set a goal and for them, that was the championship. Third, they were enthusiastic and put out all they had. Fourth, they believed they could win the Championship and they did. GOOD JOB GIRLS! Again, a very good team for a very good year . . . 76 77 This years' North Penn Wrestlers posted a 4-8 overall record. Their season was highlighted by their 28-27 victory over Liberty. It was the first time in 5 years that the Panthers have beaten the Mounties. A fine job by a young Panther team. During the season 6 school records were broken and 5 of our boys received recognition for turning in the best performances in the Twin Tiers. 4 Tracksters were medal winners in the District 4 meet and Rick Tomski, coming off with a school record in the long jump, advanced to the state finals at Penn State. According to Coach Knaus, ’’The whole team worked together all season. As a result, the day of the league meet was an ON day for everyone. They worked hard and deserved the trophy. I'm happy for them, but mostly proud of their accomplishment.' ’ Another very good team for a very good year. 82 Adidas makes it hap- pen. Take it easy, John. Up and over? Four of N. Yes, it was a very good year . . . 87 On March 19 tne Philadelphia Har- lem Giants and the Blossburg Kiwanis met on the North Penn court for the funniest game of the year. Boarding plane for return trip to Elmira. Several members of the North Penn Spanish Club made a trip to New York City in April of 1975. The high point for most of them was the jet trip from Elmira to La Guardia airport in New York. They saw many sites of interest including the U. N. Building, Statue of Liberty, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park, and Radio City Music Hall. They had alot of fun running for subways, flagging taxis, walking over 200 city blocks, and singing in the rain on the Staten Island Ferry. 130 Only the threat of rain damp- ened the French Club’s spirits on May 31, as the club went on its second annual picnic at Hills Creek State Park. Row Boat races were the highlight of the day, along with the wonderful lunch. By the end of the day, a sun- bum and good memories were all that remained. 131 Goude tJ of SBuSiMM CU tiM U'Ho iteafls m ijrau an'oy C Ua stealout puMwui too.
