Dr. William Igoe Superintendent of Schools To the class of 1967: As you prepare for your graduation exercises, may I offer my congratulations on your achieve- ment. May I suggest that you consider this not the end of your educational experience but that you think of it only as one rung of a ladder leading to a suc- cessful and rewarding life. Your education must not stop now. It must be a continuous and evolving experience. You will soon take your place in a world full of tension and unrest. No one can foresee what the future holds. We do know that this is a world full of opportunity for those willing to work and to pur- sue diligently the tasks assigned to them. This may entail considerable sacrifice and there will be times when you may wonder if it is worth the effort. Those who succeed will be those who persevere. Throughout your life I hope that you will accent the positive and that you will do good because you know it is right, not because you are afraid of doing what is wrong. ENGLIS The English curriculum includes the study of grammar, composition, and literature. Through the study of correct models, students learn the value and use of vital and correct expression. The concise expression or thought and the communica- tion of facts and ideas is emphasized through the English courses.
