Text from Pages 1 - 128 of the 1961 volume:

INTRODUCTION Speaking as the North Penn Ghost,” it is a pleasure to introduce the 1961 Pennsonian. It’s true Fve had a pretty complete view of those Seniors. Busy and eventful best describes their first two years, but they were only a pre- lude to the future. In 1957 a new crowd con- verged on them, bringing many new friend- ships. The class bent their energies to conquer- ing Typing and Latin 1, among others, and then Shorthand, Geometry, and Chemistry. Their Prom Isle of Dreams,” was hard work, but the effect of the sky over the island palm and gold treasure chest made their effort seem very worthwhile. Their ultimate goal of graduation is very close now, and they bring forth this yearbook as an enduring record of immensely profitable and happy years. OUR ALMA MATER Our Alma Mater North Peon High A fond salute to thee. We hail with pride the blue and white, And strive to do and be. The hardest lesson of our school Is working out the golden rule, And with this rule we’ll win the fight All hail the blue and white. fog 4 The Yearbook Staff in grateful acknow- ledgement of the inspiration and direction which we have received during the past years would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude by dedicating the 1961 PENNSONIAN to MR. HAROLD ADAMS. DEDICATION Pag 6 principal3 To the members of the Senior Class of 1961 I wish hap- piness and success in your new life ventures. It would be won- derful if I could gaze into a crystal ball and see you twenty years hence and know your happiness and success in life. I can foresee you in a world in which you meet with tough- er, keener competition in your vocation and more difficult and confusing problems in your social life. Each new generation and class must meet the new problems with thought, under- standing and determination. I have faith that most of you will successfully meet the challenges and the responsibilities that you will be forced to meet as you face new horizons. Page 8 HAROLD ADAMS My sincere congratulations to the Class of 61. If all of you have worked to the limit of your abilities, and if all of you will continue this effort in your chosen field, then, as Kipling once said, Yours is the world and all that’s in it.” •HenTeirtcin rincipal! GLENN H. WHITTAKER Graduation from high school is an im- portant tread in the stairway of life. Con- tinue to build your stairway ever upward with each step an indication of strength and understanding.
