7AA Champs The Chiefettes used good defense, strong rebounding, and double figure scoring by Ina Livingston, Eva Gause, and Carrie Chestnut to beat Andrews in the first round of the 7-AA Conference Tournament. Balanced scoring and big second and third quarters gave them a hard-fought 27-22 victory over Rains-Centenary for the 7-AA Conference Championship. Ina Livingston and Karen Cox scored thirty points between them as the Chiefettes coasted by Battery Park in the first round of the Lower State playoffs. The Chiefettes were eliminated by Rains-Centenary as a late surge by the eventual State champs forced the NMB girls to foul and Rains won 38-27. The Chiefettes ended the season with a 23-4 record. Coach Rivers Lynch was named Coach of the Year in the 7-AA Conference and Ina Livingston was named to the All-State girls team.
