Yet, there exists a constant change that often goes unnoticed, and surprisingly, in so far as it pertains to everyone, the four seasons are more than mere divisions of the year. They have a great affect on one's life style, not only in the clothes we wear, but also in the activities in which we participate. Fall signifies the start of school with football games and clubs being organized. Basketball and exam time take over during the somewhat chilly winter months, and everyone waits hopefully for the first signs of spring. Resembling the emergence of a butterfly from a cocoon, students become more rambunctious, taking part in tennis, golf, track-and all the time elated about the prospect of closing another school year and beginning a fantastic summer on the beach. This is pretty much the role seasons play during our education, but seasons also can be categorized in relation to life in general. We, as students, are presently in 'the spring of our lives, with summer, fall, and winter to come. As we go through our seasons may we cherish each one deservingly and prosper. Nancy Shultz . f. Dedication Once in a while a school is fortunate enough to acquire a teacher who is not just an instructor to students, but also a counselor and a friend - a teacher who is a human being with a soul, concerned for others in the school and community. Somehow, for some lucky reason, North Myrtle Beach High School has been blessed with not just one, but two of this breed of teachers. They are Teresa and Rivers Lynch. As teachers, along with being a team of coach and wife, they have, together and individual, won the respect and love from the student body of N.M.B. Because of their dedication to the school, We, the Annual Staff, dedicate this edition of the yearbook to them. Teresa and Rivers Lynch, we wish not only to dedicate this annual to you, but also to give you our love for what you have meant to us. l1li M S Chl f The title Miss Chief is given to a senior girl who is admired and re- spected by both herfellow students and teachers. Members of the senior class make nominations and then the faculty makes the final choice. This extreme honor is bestowed upon Nancy Shultz, honoring her for her scholarship, leadership, and service to N.M.B. Administration Mr. Thomas Mclnville k Elliot, joshua Vaught, lohn D. Randall, Benji Edge. l Board of Trustees And Faculty ln a society built upon change and diversity, it appears that the Fates have dealt North Myrtle Beach High School its best hand yet. Our voca- Williams Creates New Atmosphere tional and educational programs have grown rapidly and steadily since September and students appear to be enioying school much more. Credit for a lot of this goes to our new administ- ration and especially to our new principal, Mr. George L. Williams. Mr. Williams has served as a cornerstone in the building of a firm learning foundation here at N.M.B.H.S. and his inspired endeavors to mold this school into the solid oneness of teachers and students that it should be have thus far been achieved. All in all, in his first year as a Chief, George L. Williams has made an impressionable showing as principal of North Myrtle Beach High. 9 N.M.B. Gets Two Assistant Principals Two people who proved indispensible in keeping N.M.B.H.S. running smoothly and efficiently were our assistant principals, Mr. Moore and Mrs. Ward. Mrs. Ward spends much of her time making certain that the buses are rolling. Mr. Moore's pet project is seeing that the lunch line is moving orderly. These are some of their minor services to the school of North Myrtle Beach High. Still, if we were to list how indebted the school is to these two, we could not. We are grateful for their many important tasks, without which the school would not function prop- erly. FOURTH ROW: Doretha Livingston, Leila Mae Chestnut, Joanne Stevenson, Barbara Cause, Cathy Seddinger, Steve Thomas. Fellowship of Christian Students Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love, When there is injury, pardon, Where there is doubt, faith, When there is despair, hope, Where there is darkness, light, When there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that l may not so much seek To be consoled, as to console, Not so much to be understood as To understand, not so much to be Loved as to love, For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned, lt is in dying, that we awaken to eternal life. The Fellowship of Christian Students, newly origi- nated and sponsored by Rev. Lonnie Chestnut, hope- fully opened a new tradition for N.M.B.H.S. Its pur- pose, simply to follow the commandments and wishes of Christ and to work for the good of the school through the love of the Lord jesus helped to draw the school closer together. In the future years, the FCS hopes to grow in love and fellowship . . . black and white . . . hand-in-hand . . . til He comes back.
