Our school newspaper the NORSE STAR was put out this year, for the first time, with advertising and in printing. Before, it had been mimeographed. These improvements were due to the able leadership of its editor-in-chief Sally Derrickson and its two advisors, Mrs. Wathen and Miss Maurer. The reporters, art staffs, typists and all the others who worked very hard on the publication are iustly proud of their product as is the school as a whole. In the pictures on this page are some Of the members of the NORSE STAR staff, conferring with, and being helped by, extra hands last fall, when the paper was assembled in the old way. - uzmenzewzzme ' Norse School Page reporters, Sally Derrickson, editor: Sheryl Banninga, and Vikke Casperson tell the high school stories each week for the special page in the Muskegon Chronicle. All of the girls have noses for news, and can sniff up a story at the drop of a hat. Since the Chronicle allows North Muskegon High School one picture a week on the school page, the girls are always on the alert for interesting picture situations. All of the girls are iuniors this year, and feel that writing for the school page is excellent training for their future college careers, besides being fun and informative. 30 -wdq Atfddw I9 Varsuty Club open to any and all varsuty letter win ners us organuzed to meet on Wednesday nights Coach Morris us the advusor The letter winners were Dale Swanson Dave Taylor Jerry Johnson Frank Moran Bull Baker Duck Hoover Dick Overkamp Bill Garber Tom Cousuneau Bull Gunman John Armustead Bull Bussen Benny Manning Chuck Caverly Jeff Olds Bob Marquard Steve Clunk Roger Supmann Duck Neff Jum Moyes Dennus Bates Duck Wulson Bull Baker Dave Harpold Keuth Allen and lra Bank in!! 522455, Thu ,few 4uZwue.L' Mekaak Sielued Under the leadership of Mrs. Aino Boutin head libra- rian and club advisor the Library Club performs many services to the school. ln addition to their duties as student librarians club members keep bulletin boards up-to-date with information about new books and old as an enticing invitation that prompts students to investigate the trea- sures the library contains. The Norseman Annual Staff has tried to portray this action in all of its various forms. Mental action is the most important action in school. For example, in the classroom, there is the constant action of mind upon mind, personality upon person- ality, and student upon teacher. This mental action stimulates us to learn and to know more. More familiar than the mental action to students is the physical action of school. Wide opportunities are 1 VHP 4 va pl i Q su opened to all to participate and to support our various teams. These actions, wisely balanced, pre- pare us to become the kind of citizens who support and improve the communities of which we shall be a part. ie, F' fi.
