Cole, L. Barlan, M. Wynne, K. Young. Sirena Promotes Spirit ond Interest in The Swim Teom To promote spirit and interest in the swim team is the prime purpose of Sirena. They also strive to send the best swim team possible to the state meets. To become a member, a girl must have a 2.0 average and a sincere interest in the swim team. Sirena sponsored a bake sale, a joint dance with Drakes, and joint meetings with other Sirena and Drake clubs. They also devote much of their time to helping 'the unfortunate of our community. Webb. ' ROW TWO: I. Smith, J. Muthart, I. Zimmerman, I-. Ander- Mastering a new sport are Linda Holler, Drakes' sweet- heart, and Pete H epp, Siremfs sweetheart. An arch swimming rival of our swim team pro- motes an unusual motto for Dralces, Beat Jack- P7 son. The Drakes of North Miami are the chief back- ers of our swim team. They raise money and do an extremely good job of building school spirit. Drakes, boys are usually members of the swim team or have a sincere interest in the team. Boys must maintain a 2.0 average to apply for Drakes. Drakes have held many socials to celebrate swimming victories. Since 1957, the Drakes have had an industrious yearly schedule. Members of Concert Band sit posed awaiting the maestro's signal. Concert Bond Provides Fine Music For Students Mr. Alexander, director of Concert Band, prepares to give the downbeat. Students have applauded their performances in our asemblies, on television, and in their annual rendition of Handelis 'gMessiah , which has at- tracted a large following. Members have brought honor to North Miami High each year in the Dis- trict and State Music Contests and in their per- formance in the annual Spring Choral Festival. Their final performance of the year takes place at our graduation exercises. The ability to appreciate good music is instilled in students participating in Concert Band. These young people are given the opportunity to advance culturally While expressing their innate talent.
