Webb. ' ROW TWO: I. Smith, J. Muthart, I. Zimmerman, I-. Ander- Mastering a new sport are Linda Holler, Drakes' sweet- heart, and Pete H epp, Siremfs sweetheart. An arch swimming rival of our swim team pro- motes an unusual motto for Dralces, Beat Jack- P7 son. The Drakes of North Miami are the chief back- ers of our swim team. They raise money and do an extremely good job of building school spirit. Drakes, boys are usually members of the swim team or have a sincere interest in the team. Boys must maintain a 2.0 average to apply for Drakes. Drakes have held many socials to celebrate swimming victories. Since 1957, the Drakes have had an industrious yearly schedule. The Alpha Chapter of the Hi-Y strives to main- tain these goals by instilling cooperation and leadership in their members. Participation in school activities is amply demon- strated by the Hi-Y's appearance in Forensic Fol- lies, the building of fun houses at our carnival, sponsoring the watermelon sale at the Senior pic- nic, and entering a homecoming float in our Home- coming Parade. The Hi-Y is undertaking as its year's project the repainting of the teachers lounge. They also spon- sor Cupidis Capers, a Valentine Dance, a tag sale during basketball season, and two car washes. Cole, L. Barlan, M. Wynne, K. Young. Sirena Promotes Spirit ond Interest in The Swim Teom To promote spirit and interest in the swim team is the prime purpose of Sirena. They also strive to send the best swim team possible to the state meets. To become a member, a girl must have a 2.0 average and a sincere interest in the swim team. Sirena sponsored a bake sale, a joint dance with Drakes, and joint meetings with other Sirena and Drake clubs. They also devote much of their time to helping 'the unfortunate of our community.
