Diane Denning Many acnvities, many duties, and many respon- sibilities, but Diane Denning still has time to be friendly and helpful. Diane, a member and now vice-president of Sub-Debs has contributed much to the school. She has brought honors to the school through the Honor Carde, the Concert Choir, and the Pioneers vocal ensemble. The sweetheart of the Honor Garde also is interested in the Latin Language and has received several awards in this field. WVith all these activities Diane stays on the Dean's list and is an active member of National Honor Society and Beta. I ay Beskind lay Beskind has served our school well in the last three years. He has served as sophomore class vice-president, Beta Honor Societyls sergeant-at- arms, and senior class vice-president. During his years at North Miamijay has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Club, and is president of Key Club. Iay's interests vary from playing of the violin and clarinet to water skiing and sports in general. He has been of community service in helping with the Cancer Society Drive, Muscular Dystrophy Drive, and the March of Dimes. 193

lay Beskind Don Dickerson Alan Levan Dennis Wightman Diane Denning Being pronounced a Pioneer at the end of the year in the Conestoga is the greatest single honor that can be bestowed upon a senior here at North Miami High School. These students are chosen for their outstanding traits and characteristics which are unequalled by any other member of the student body. A selected committee of administrative and faculty personnel meet in a secret session in the middle of the academic year and select eight students, four girls and four boys. Mary Howard Lipscomb Radiating warmth and sincerity, Mary Howard quickly makes even a total stranger feel at ease. Her activities have reflected her sparkling person- ality over the years. She has worked diligently to make the proms better by serving on the sophomore and junior proms committees. Last summer Mary was elected Supreme Court justice at Cirl's State and she has received the Optimist,s Club Outstand- ing Citizenship Award. Mary Howard has par- ticipated in many community drives and is very active in her church group. 194 Don Dickerson Representing North Miami High as good will ambassador, Don Dickerson has sown the seed of friendship both here and abroad. Don has served on our Student Council as president of the Inter- Club Council, and as a delegate to several con- ventions. In other extra-curricular activities, Don has been the chairman of the Christmas Ball and the Foreign Student Carnival. Among Don's special interests and hobbies are hunting, fishing, skiing, and traveling.
