LL- ...S .,.. Tri Hz Y and Hi-Y's floats A Little Bit of Heaven. Storybook Land comes to North Miami through Anchoris float. Ir. Exchange members let Hialeah know what will be happening to their football players on the field. . . . . Tri-G used a roman theme for their float Homecoming 1961 November 22, 1961. This is a date that will stand out in the minds of many for years to come. This was the night of our 1961 homecoming game, parade, and dance. The festive activities began with the traditional parade through North Miami. Eight of our clubs partici- pated with beautiful floats ending with the homecoming court on a float bedecked with roses. The game with Hialeah started the tension which steadily built up until Miss Flora Io Chandonnet was crown- ed our Homecoming Queen by Miss Candy Collins, 1960 Homecoming Queen. We will always remember the dance which followed our victory over Hialeah 13-6, when the winners of the float contest were announced: 1st place, Sorrota, 2nd place, Sub- Debs or Key Club, and 3rd place, Honoria. As tradition would have it, the cheerleaders and Student Council decorated the Hame- coming Court Float with white love-seats, baby palms and red roses. Diane Patterson casts the spell over the Thorough breds on Sorrota's winning float. Third place winner was Honoria's Honoria Sweeties .
