Stark, Mgr., Miss Veling, Sponsor. The Tennis Tec1m's Skill Requires Practice Daily exercises, practice, and guidance from the coach, Miss Veling, is the schedule of the tennis team while in training for matches which began in January. ' Team spirit, willingness to work, cooperation, respect and courtesy to both team members and opponents are a must for any member of the team. To raise money, the team Washed cars, sold soft drinks after school and at basketball games, and sold pennant pins. With the money, they bought new equipment including a machine which serves tennis balls for practice, and outfitted the whole team with new uniforms. Becky Kline reaches high to return a powerful serve. 164 Evelyn Chatlos is practicing hard to improve her serve. The tennis team jumps rope frequently to build their muscles and their reflexes.

Rifle Teom: New Sport ot North Miomi High Gne of our newer sports teams is the rifle team. At the present time they have twelve members, but the interest in this sport is steadily growing. The team has many sports activities during the year. Every Saturday they meet here at the school and have target practice for several hours. They have matches quite frequently in which both the boy and girl members participate. Most of these matches are out-of-town. They have traveled to such places as Key WVest and Tamiami. Rifle Club members are: SITTING: Danny Baumgarten Judy Carstensen, Mr. VVilliams and Mr. Johnson, Sponsorsg Chris Mapes, and Ken Heller.
