Tri-M Fosters Music Appreciation Guiding the destiny of Tri-M this year are the officers: Ann Marie Leonard, President, Bill Partridge, Vice-Presi- dent, Tom Grozan, Treasurer, Maureen King, Chaplain, Dianne Patterson, Secretary, and Sylvia Dine, Historian. This national honor society for high school people interested in music enables students to enhance their talents. Modern Music Masters limits their membership to students achieveing a Cv average academically and a B average musically. They strive to pro- mote a greater and continued interest in all phases of music: solos, ensembles, band, orchestra, and choral performances. Community and school activities hold an im- portant place in this organization. They have do- nated over S530 of recordings to our library, ushered at all musical performances, and sponsored the Singing Gatorv performance at our school. Notionol Honor Member Shown on the front lawn of school are: John Citron, Presi- dent, Tina Sullivan, Recording Secretary, Ellen Geneson, s Aim High,WorkHc1rd The members of the McKay Chapter of the Na- tional Honor Society are scholastically in the top one per cent of the school. The purpose of the club is to recognize and en- courage scholarship - to stimulate and promote higher ideals of citizenshipf' The requirements for membership are at least a 3.8 average for each of the two previous semesters, a satisfactory record of character, participation in significant extra-curricular activities, distinguished service to the school, and demonstration of the qualities of a leader. Under the direction of Mr. Bertok, the club sells stationery, has a tutoring service, is in charge of Words for the Wise , and has a booth at the For- eign Exchange Student Carnival.
