Beta Recognizes Scholarship This year Beta has two sponsors, Mr. Murrell and Mr. K. Williams. Under their leadership the members strive to create enthusiasm for scholar- ship, encourage development of character, render service, and promote leadership. Requirements for membership are rigid: a 3.6 scholastic average for the previous semester in all school studies, participation in significant extra- curricular activities, and demonstration of quali- Beta members work hurriedly to prepare for the Home- coming Parade. ...a.. . ,,, ,vy K ..,, , I ,V . ,. :Lk V? E, ties of leadership. Membership shall be based upon honor, character, scholarship, creditable achievement and commendable attitude. Quill And Scroll is Goal of Journalists Quill and Scroll is an honorary society for high school students. ln order to become a member, a student must be nominated by the journalism spon- sor, maintain a 3.0 average, be outstanding in jour- nalistic achievement, and rank high in leadership and citizenship. A member must have published a minimum of two hundred inches or its equivalent in photography, art, or business. Students who excel in journalistic studies find Quill and Scroll and excellent outlet to improve their work and receive criticism from people with literary talents. Dining at a Quill and Scroll initiation are: Mrs. Rice, Mr. Rice, President, Steve Grisillo, and Treasurer, Elaine Edwards. l
