The members of this organ- ization are enthusiastic students who are devoted to their instruments. They work together as a team and combine their efforts to produce outstanding work. In addition to these many concerts, the orchestra members sell candy to raise funds to sponsor their annual trip to compete in state competition. Mr. Signor accompanies the orchestra on the violin.

EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL ARE: Dee Scola, Bonny Hrinda, Kathy Broe, Cheryl DeFero, Sylvia Dine, Kathy Geller. BACK ROW: Dennis Wightman, Alan Levan, Danny Lee, Danny DeLoreto, Don Crane, Richard Brown, Mr. Lipscomb. Student Council Instills Citizenship Keeping students informed of school policies and activities is just one of the many purposes of our Student Council. Under the leadership of Mr.pHow- ard Lipscomb, the officers and representatives help to develop responsibility, iniative, leadership and school pride in the students of North Miami High. The Student Council sponsors many activities throughout the year such as Orientation VVeek in- cluding a Friendship Dance at the beginning of the year, Spirit Week and pep rallies during foot- ball season, and many other service activities. The Council undertook some new proiects this year when they organized the Senior Consultants to aid sophomores in their first few weeks at school, and helping to sell i'Pioneersv for the Iournalism Department. By promoting student-faculty rela- tions and coordinating activities, the Student Coun- cil does a great service to North Miami High.
