HOMEMAKING Amid the snapping scissors, perforated patterns and shining sinks, work our Home Economics teachers. These teachers prepare our girls for the important task of managing a household. The Home Economics Department is divided in- to two basic paths of study. The girls may choose between well-rounded courses in either cooking or sewing. These comprehensive courses include such units as child care, grooming, dating, and interior decorating. Study in this area will enable girls to perform tasks ranging from elementary to the most complex activities of a homemaker. '5'ffl'ig I i', A w l The Homemaking teachers are seated above. Our cultural development through the arts leads us to appreciate the things around us. The guidance of teachers in these departments has lead us to greater ascetic appreciation and to a fuller life. To some, these classes have served as an inspiration. To others experience in these fields will be used in later life. To all, they are the tool of self-expression. Behind the busy desk and occupied expression, is the head of our publications department, Mr. Niles. The watchdog- and-chief of the Pioneer and Conestoga, his unbounding energy and effort has insured development of journalism in our school. x .PVI hs' W A If ,
