There is no end to the problems facing him each day, an interminable procession of troubles and difficulties, but his cheerful smile never de- serts him, and he makes major woes into minor ones. Absences, records, student achievement, teach- ers' problems, all are handled with an enviable ease which bespeaks skill and confidence. Unusual indeed is it -to find a man who so com- mands the respect of the boys even after neces- sary discipline, but our remarkable dean is a true friend to Whom our students may always come for counsel and comfort. an inspiration Dean Henley greets the students each day with his an- nouncements. I., , - ....gsi,-.f., GUIDA CE DEPARTME T To serve the student body and to help meet both their academic and social needs is the aim of the Guidance Department. Under the direction of Mr. Bullington, these friendly counselors en- courage students to come in and discuss their pro- blems and future plans. College-bound students will find an unlimited amount of information available. This year for the first time, a scholarship orientation program was coordinated by Mrs. Brown for the benefit of seniors. Those students not planning to continue their education may also receive helpful information con- cerning job opportunities, and many are placed in good positions after graduation by the school. Another important service performed by our counselors is to acquaint new students with life at North Miami Senior High School and to en- courage them to participate in the many activities of the school. Each year because of their efforts, hundreds of new students are made to feel at home in the afriendliest school in the world.
