Gaining and garnering new ideas, strengthening our beliefs, shaping our philosophy . . . all re- quire the care of our teachers lest we go astray. YVhile our appreciation is not always manifest at the moment, it makes itself felt in the years to come as we look back fondly on the moments our teachers have made come alive for us . . . mo- ments which are treasured and cherished always. RICE, PRINCIPAL Coupled with a ready wit, a warm smile, a quick sense of humor, is the eternal readiness of this congenial administrator to listen to his students and their problems. Greeting all with his familiar, Welcoming smile, he hears, digests, and dispenses a decision, or kind advice, smoothing balm over a wound or arriving at a decision for a touchy problem. Burdened with the responsibility of administra- tion, the loneliness of decision, the load of details and records, he takes time to attend our activities and sports events, he ever stands ready to listen and to help as our friend and principal. His door is open to all, and in the short time Mr. W. E. Rice has been principal at North Miami High, he has Won the hearts and admiration of all.
