'gf ,: Coming out of a turn is senior, Mike Gaffin. Mike placed fourth in the 100-yard freestroke at the State Meet, and is the best second breaststroker in the state. Mike is a hard worker and often fills in as the second butterflyer. Tired, Ted Petras, finishes workout. He has been an All-American for the past two years, and holds the National Championship for the 100 and 200 meter breast stroke in junior Olympics. In his junior year Ted made the All-City team. Take your mark, go-and senior Carl Carter was off to a nice looking season. Carl holds the school record in the 100 yard back stroke and placed third in the state last year in this event. Steve Greenberg, the outstanding diver who has represented North Miami High for three years, holds many titles, in- cluding Dade County Championship in 1959, 5 place in the Cold Coast Conference, 1959, 4 place in the State Iunior Olympics, 1960, and 6 place in the State High School Competition. Genie Scanlan, Florence VVeeks, Jane Rohrback, Bonnie Ranch, Kathy Evers, Lee Schichtel, Sue Clifford, Sherry Hoffenberg, Pat Richards, and Nancy Keys work out. jane Rohrback holds three school records, eight National Championships, and five Junior Olympic Championships. jane has also been among those selected for All-City. Bonnie Ranch holds the 100-yard Breast Stroke record at school and placed second in this event at state. She is a National Junior Olympics Champ and has been placed on All-City teams. In her sophomore year, Kathy Shannon took a second place in the Butterfly at the State Meet. Last year, Kathy returned to the State Meet and took a first place in the 100 yard Freestyle. Kathy has appeared on All-City rosters. Sue Clifford, seven times National Champ, has been the State Champion in the Backstroke for the past two years.
