VARSITY FUUTBALL The 1960-61 football season was filled with ex- citement as we won our opener, 14-O, over a bitter rival of long standing, the Edison Red Raiders. The Bogartmen lengthened their winnings by trouncing the Norland Vikings 39-13. The next game was lost to a mighty Cables team 13-O, but the Pioneers bounced back in the next meeting on the gridiron, ran over the Curley Knights, 40-27. A strong Miami High team, winning 26-7, gave us our second defeat, but the Pioneers, not to be daunted, sought and got revenge in a 19-0 victory over the Jackson Generals. The powerful Jacksonville teams handed North Miami two defeats in a row, Jax Jax, 14-7, before a disappointed Homecoming crowd, and Jax Lee, 25-7. The season ended on a joyous note, as the vali- ant Pioneers sprang back from these two setbacks to overpower a gallant Hialeah eleven for a 19-6 win, giving North Miami a seasonal record of five wins and four losses. 164 wsnuvfnlinr- Red Bogart Head Coach
