BETA CL UB Under the motto, Let Us Lead by Serving Others, Beta Club boasts the largest membership in the state. 1 One of its annual projects starting this year, was the presentation of The Distinguished Scholar Awards to seniors. Requirements to join are a 3.5 scholastic average and outstanding in leadership, character, and achievement. Among this year's projects were, sponsoring Beta Better English Day, Student Government Day,. and publishing the honor roll and dean's lists. The primary purpose of NFL is to interest high school students in speech activities until they acquire a high degree of ef- fectiveness as speakers. Experiences in creative thinking and in the arts of communication are the best training for our American way of life. The forensic program includes student congress, discussion, debate, extempore speaking, oratory, and interpretation of literature.
