MIAMI 41 NORTH MIAMI Miami High. the states number om team, crushed the underdog Pioneers 41-0, October 24, in the Orange Bowl Scoring every time they had the ball in the first half the Stingarees built a 34 0 lead and coasted through the second half behind their reserves to remain un defeated. Adrian Laxon gained 35 yards in six carries. as the only North Miami standout.

NORTH MIAMI 27 JAX LANDON 14 North Miami's first Big Ten win came on the rain soaked field of the recrea- tion center, as they defeated jax Lan- don 227-14. The first Pioneer touchdown came on a four yard run by Tom Baxley. Landon bounced back through the air- ways with Larry Carr hitting Ron Hay- don for eight yards and a touchdown. The extra point try was good. Baxley electrified the crowd by run- ning T0 yards for the second Pioneer touchdown. Landon again took to the air, Baxley intercepted a Carr aerial, and raced 52 yards for his third touchdown. In the second half YYally Flurey raced 30 yards around the end for the fourth Pioneer touchdown. YVith six minutes of the 3rd quarter remaining Carr scored the final Landon tally. PIONEERS 2 JAX JACKSON - 19 North Miami dropped its third straight Big Ten game to Jax 19-2, Friday, No- vember 13, in the Gator Bowl. The game dropped the Pioneers to last place in the conference with a 0-5 record. Jackson scored on 14 and 29 yard runs by speed merchant Paul Cardner, and on an 88 yard pass run play from quarter- back Billy Nloneyham to Ken Crawford. The Pioneers 'ut the scoreboard with 18 seconds left on a two point safety. f' . .. . V-'imp-in cz . t.. x . GREEN AND CRAY 12 RED AND BLUE 9 North Miami scored with only 48 sec- onds remaining in the game to top sur- prisingly tough Hialeah, 12-9 for the Pioneers first home coming game vic- tory in 3 seasons. Bill Hughes blasted one yard on a fourth down play which climaxed a 37 yard desperation march. Tom Baxley scored the first Pioneer touchdown on a 25 yard run after re- ceiving a flat pass from quarterback Charles Fieldus. Art Lancour scored for Hialeah to tie the score 6-6. The Pioneers final tally drive started with less than 3 minutes left to play as the Pioneers took possession of the ball on the Hialeah 37. Baxley and Hughes driving for long yardage moved the ball to the one. After two unsuccess- ful attempts by Baxley and Fieldus, Hughes scored what proved to be the most important Pioneer touchdown of the season. Poge Two Pimdred Thirty-N
